About the Ride Info Box

Der Flitzer was a carnival style roller coaster in Alpine Village. It opened at that location in 1976. According to the Roller Coaster Database, it was replaced by the Giant Sky Wheel in 1990.

2019 Update: From a post card photo, it looks like it was where the Splash Over sits today. "replaced by" might mean they removed it the same year the Sky Wheel was added, or RCDB could just be wrong.

Apparently, it was the same ride as Rallye Racers, which opened in a different location in 1974. When it was moved to the new Alpine Village area, the mountain themed background was installed. Check the Racers page for more details.

This makes it one of several rides that has existed in multiple location in the park, and one of a few that have been given different names.
