About the Ride Info Box

Space Shot is a launch and drop ride located on the Space Shot Midway. It opened in 1999.

In 2016, the spotlights that illuminate the tower were upgraded to color changing LED lights. The lights are controlled by a tiny computer in the control booth. While the lights can change to any color, they were set to toggle through Red, White and Blue for July 4th, 2016. The lights were done by KCL Engineering, the same Des Moines firm that did the LED lights on the Monster and Giant Sky Wheel.
