Adventureland Inn Expanding For Year Round Fun

Officials at Adventureland today announced that a major expansion is occurring at Adventureland Inn. Highlights to the nearly six million dollar project include a pool with a swim up bar, a spa, a fitness center, and a second pool with a water slide and other water features targeted at young families. The addition is glass enclosed, and also encompasses fifty-seven new poolside guest rooms and suites.

“We are creating a complete resort experience for our guests regardless of the season,” stated John Krantz, President of Adventureland. “This expansion provides more family fun for guests staying at the resort during our park season, and will increase visits by people looking for a resort style escape from Iowa’s winter weather,” Krantz added.

In addition to the hotel project, Adventureland Park is debuting a new ride called “Saw Mill Splash” for the 2002 park season. The white water raft adventure is the first ride of its type in the nation, and becomes the parks third major water attraction.

Adventureland Park, Inn and Campground are located on I-80 just east of Des Moines, Iowa. The Inn and Campground are open year round. Adventureland Park opens weekends beginning April 27th, and will be open every day starting May 18th.
