About the Ride Info Box

Riverview Carousel was the second carousal at Adventureland. It was located in Riverview (1980-1989) before the area was renamed Dragon Island. It was replaced by the Himalaya when the new Town Square Carousel was added in 2000.

The carousel was 36 feet wide, and had horses, elephants, deer and other animals on it. It was of all-steel construction, and the base was diamond-plated steel.

According to a December 9, 1999 newspaper article, the carousel was shipped to Ocean Beach Park in New London, Connecticut. It was supposedly in immaculate condition and had been recently renovated.
