River City represents Mississippi River communities of the past. It has a distinct New Orleans feel to the area, with themed music and architecture. It usually plays Jazz or Zydeco music.

According to one of the founder's sons, Jack Krantz was a fan of New Orleans style jazz. I suppose since Iowa also had Mississippi river cities this makes the connection.
